    Description

This is an Aesthetic/Victorian Era stained glass transom window from the 1880s salvaged from a residence in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
This window was hidden in a wall and dry-walled over and was found during deconstruction of the building.
Not only was it covered with drywall, but someone added insult to injury and the textured side of the window was painted white (last picture).
This darling girl went through some major rehab to bring her back.
One border piece of glass had to be matched and replaced and a leaf lead was used to cover a crack on one of the blue pieces.
    Lead caming remains strong.
All paint has been stripped from the glass and frame and I have left the frame unfinished.
The colors on this piece are nothing short of magnificent from the green Florentine pieces to the amber waffle glass piece in the center (we have never seen one of those!!).
    Overall dimension is 36”w x 16”h x 1 5/8” thick, Glass only measurement is 31 ½”w x 11 ½”h.
This window could be hung horizontally or vertically.
